Ideas of how to use your SunPod mini greenhouse
by Rachel Lloyd

Whether you grow vegetables, flowers, strawberries, herbs or potted plants you can achieve more success and bigger, healthier harvests when you cover your crop with a sunpod mini greenhouse . Some crops require only a few weeks of extra cover, while others perform better when covered all the time.

The sunpod mini greenhouse is designed to be versatile and multipurpose in your garden. You can adapt your coverings throughout the season and enjoy the flexibility and versatility of your sunpod mini greenhouse system.

Depending on what you want to grow it is possible to move your sunpod mini greenhouse around your garden, throughout the season to meet the different needs of your garden.

The following is an example of how we have used our 4 ft x 9-4 ft unheated SunPod Row Cover for growing continuous vegetables
1. We started in late winter and seeded chard, spinach and lettuce.
2. After this we moved it over to the next bed and started peas, more lettuce and carrots
3. When the peas became too tall the unit was moved to another bed to cover basil for the summer
4. In the fall yet another crop of greens was planted in the same sunpod.

Thus we moved that one unit 4 times in one season to meet different needs we had in our vegetable garden. This is only one example; there are many other ways to use a sunpod depending on what you like to grow.

The sunpod mini greenhouses are effective at covering early cut flower crops and will help you to achieve earlier, healthier blooms. The greenhouse can also be used as a constant cover for some dwarf cut flowers to allow earlier harvest and protection from rain and wind that can damage the blooms.

The sunpod is an elegant cover for your strawberry crops; the netting is effective at keeping the interested birds and animals out of your crop, while allowing the bees to go in to pollinate the strawberry flowers. The strawberries are easy to harvest from your sunpod because you can walk down the back of the unit to reach the far plants and berries.

The sunpod system when used with netting, can be used to keep animals like cats away from your newly sown beds, and can keep deer away from your lettuce etc. if you do not have fencing.

Early hothouse potted plants can be potted into planters and covered with a sunpod, and the results are more productive and satisfying summer displays of flowers.

The sunpod mini greenhouse can also be used to successfully start seeds as it creates an ideal environment for germination. By trapping the sun’s warmth during the day, and not losing temperature and moisture to wind and weather the environment remains a few degrees warmer, evenly moist and still.
The sunpod mini greenhouse is also easier and more affordable to heat than a larger hobby greenhouse. We have successfully started our cold sensitive seedlings, such as tomatoes and cucumbers, in flats that were placed on heat cables or mats, and because the air space is smaller the heat doesn’t turn on as often.

Sunpod Mini Greenhouses are spacious in usable growing space and in height, which allows for more harvest from a smaller space than a full size greenhouse. Sunpod mini greenhouse systems are lightweight and easily moved and yet they are strong and can withstand wind and weather, providing an ideal growing environment The sunpod greenhouse is a flexible and multipurpose tool that we know will add to your gardening experience and enjoyment.
